Curated by Topic Chair Andrew Levine, the 33rd Tonmeistertagung once again featured an extensive session on the topic of “Making Music with Modular Systems.”

Marc Bohn, creator of the podcast “Studiosofa,” produced an episode with our Vice President Daniela Rieger at the tmt33. Amidst the hustle and bustle of dismantling the booth, she talks about her work on the VDT board and her research into MPEG-H audio and AI-supported technologies.

This time, the filmsound track of tmt33 took place in a hall that was optimally equipped for the topic. Over three days, it attracted visitors to the large Room 2 with really strong content. Conclusion of the sessions: Film sound work will change significantly in the medium term!

What a wonderful Tonmeistertagung! We are still reveling in memories, helped along by the four video shorts from the event and the aftermovie. Watch the films and look forward to tmt34, which will be held again at the CCD in Düsseldorf in November 2027.

This year, the VDT is celebrating its 75th anniversary at the Tonmeistertagung. Together, we look back on the past, which is quite extensive. In four display cases in the entrance area, you can see how the VDT was founded, how it has grown over the decades, and what it has achieved.

In our 75th year of existence, we sought people who have made audio engineering history with their work.

In just 7 days, the 33rd Tonmeistertagung will kick off in Dusseldorf. We are really looking forward to welcoming you all there in person!
