75 years of VDT

This year, the VDT is celebrating its 75th anniversary at the Tonmeistertagung. Together, we look back on the past, which is quite extensive at 75 years. In four display cases in the entrance area, you can see how the VDT was founded, how it has grown over the decades, and what it has achieved.
You can see its beginnings, as well as its development and many highlights. Political events such as the fall of the Berlin Wall, after which around 100 members of the former GDR radio, television, and record industry joined us, are also featured. Our long-standing Berlin regional group leader, Theodor Przybilla, who only stepped down last year, was fortunate enough to experience everything as the then head of the Berlin group. He also played a key role in the development of our 75th anniversary exhibition at tmt33.
Another milestone was the 50th anniversary in 2000, which was celebrated at the Tonmeistertagung in Hanover. A separate display case is dedicated to this date. The exhibition also shows who is currently involved in the management of the VDT. The VDT, its board, and its office have grown tremendously in recent decades.
Our work would be unthinkable without sound technology. For this reason, each display case contains selected equipment from the early days of sound engineering and its further development. Thank you to everyone who provided their many exhibits and kindly lent us their equipment!
Look forward to an interesting journey into the life of the VDT.
