As part of the official opening of tmt33, the VDT Medal of Honor will be awarded again this year.

In our 75th year of existence, we sought people who have made audio engineering history with their work. We found Wilma Cozart Fine and her husband Robert Fine. Cozart took over as recording director at Mercury Living Presence in 1953 and also produced the CD reissues of more than half of the Mercury Living Presence catalog in the 1990s.
Cozart once said, “It was the close partnership of the Mercury team, the vision of a common goal, and the careful monitoring of every aspect of the production cycle, from the recording session to the editing, mastering, and final product.” She is not without honors, having received the Grammy Trustees Award posthumously in 2011 for her significant achievements in the music industry. Wilma Cozart passed away in 2009, Robert Fine in 1982. Both will be represented at the ceremony by their son Matt Fine.
