Poster Guideline
Instructions for Poster Presentations for tmt33
General
A Poster presentation contains the description of any scientific, technical and other matter or results by means of text, graphs and/or pictures using a greater paper format, which is fixed at a poster mounting board. It is explained by the author and may be explained to and discussed with an interested audience during the Poster session. A Poster typically shows the results from scientific and practical work. For example, students present their thesis or authors discuss their latest researches or projects.
Content related recommendations
A poster should be self-explainable, that is, to be comprehensible even if the author is not present.
Authors are encouraged to consider designing their posters according to a clear outline and logical layout. An example outline might include:
- Title, author(s), affiliation(s)
- Objectives, goals and significance, assumptions, key terms, limitations
- Background information, such as summary of prior research, theoretical fbackground, experimental procedure, block diagrams, photos, parameters
- Results, graphs, tables, etc. (self-contained figure captions are essential!)
- Conclusions
- References, bibliography
Poster dimensions and formats
For each Poster presentation an area à 95 cm x 158 cm (width x height, suitable for DIN/ISO format A0 portrait) will be available. Posters should contain graphical elements and font sizes that are readable from a distance of about 1 m. Graphs, tables, and diagrams should be at least 20 x 25 cm.
Large poster formats of the same size as the poster board are preferred. These large sheets can be rolled up into a tube and easily brought along to the convention. Copy shops produce such posters directly from computer files.
Presentation procedures
The Posters Chair Michael Hösel (contact below) will indicate the intended poster boards and will supply the necessary mounting hardware. The posters will hang for the entire duration of the Tonmeistertagung. We have so many poster contributions this time that we have divided them into two sessions. The posters for Session 1 will be put up by the poster authors on Wednesday at 12:00 noon and taken down again on Thursday evening. The posters for Session 2 will be put up by the poster authors on Thursday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. and taken down again on Saturday afternoon. If you are unable to be on site during the setup times, for example because you have your own presentation running at the same time, please notify the in advance. Any posters left behind will be destroyed.
There is a time slot for each poster session during which the authors present their posters, explain details to participants, and discuss questions. You should remain at your poster at least during this time. Poster authors can leave their contact details on the poster to enable individual appointments with interested parties if necessary.
Registration
The person presenting the poster can get a free ticket for the entire conference in our ticket store - probably starting in October 2025. Co-authors will receive a reduced ticket in the ticket store.
Manuscript for the Conference Proceedings
Poster authors are invited to submit manuscripts to be published in the Conference Proceedings, provided that there is no product advertisement. The manuscripts will appear online with ISBN identification. Each manuscript is quotable and recognized all over the world. Each individual Conference Proceedings article will be available for download from the tmt33 website. You find more details about the papers in our papers guideline.
